Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Classique Brut 2009
Frans Malan, the founder of Simonsig, was the first producer of Methode Champenoise in South Africa when he pioneered Cap Classique in 1971.
This wine has received much praise including at the Bristol Wine and Food Fair where it was received with much enthusiasm.
This blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier has a lively and energetic mousse, lovely red berry aromas and a delicious sour dough complexity. Mouthfilling with ample body and persistent clean and dry finish.
Laforet Bourgogne Blanc, Joseph Drouhin 2009
Laforet Bourgogne Chardonnay of Maison Drouhin is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, handpicked from all over Burgundy.
It derives its bouquet and taste from various "terroirs" mostly Macon for the fruity flavours, although, in certain vintages, its crisp structure may come from Chablis, its body from Rully, Chassagne and Puligny Montrachet and its overall nascent complexity from the young vines of Joseph Drouhin own great "Crus".
Fleurie Domaine Lucien Lardy Les Roches 2009
Lucien Lardy cultivates some of the best plots in Fleurie. This explains why he was amongst the first to leave the village's cooperative in order to prove the terrific potential of his parcels and what parcels! No less than three out of four of these plots were given a five star rating in the world renowned guide "Les Viviers".
Commended at the International Wine Challenge. Jancis Robinson awarded this wine 17/20 .
